Malaysians now have a new Japanese destination to look forward to for their coming Japan travel plans – Okinawa! Forming the southwestern tip of Japan, the Okinawa Prefecture comprising of over 160 islands with a population of approximately 1.4million. This island destination have an annual average temperature of approximately 23 degrees due to its geographical location where it’s similar to that of Hawaii, Miami, and Cancun.
As it’ll be winter in Okinawa when AirAsiaX’s Okinawa route takes flight, there’s still lots to look forward to during this period. Cherry blossom fans will be please to know that Okinawa gets first dibs of the blooms from late- January till mid-February. That’s a 3 months headstart than the rest of the country! Whale watching here off the waters of Okinawa boasts of a higher hit rate than striking a lottery with a whopping 98% of sighting during the migration period between January & March.
Nature and culture buffs and take in a spot of nature walk around one of its many world heritage sites and learn of its history from eras of long ago or immerse in one of the many traditional craft experiences such as pottery making or sanshin playing to experience some of the islands many cultural wonders.
